Nader Hadjebi is an Alumnus of the Corcoran College of Art + Design's class of 1998. He has been working as a Graphic Designer for 10 years for such notable companies as AOL while pursuing his love of painting.
Avalanches of color? 8000 different color squares? What do they mean? The paintings are loud and engulfing and one can get lost in them. Nader has a passion for his paintings because of their cathartic nature. He can lose himself in them while painting them and while watching them. They are called Color Studies, but they are more than the Study of Colors?. These paintings have a life and presence of their own that enliven the space they are in and engage Nader. Who are these women? They are colorful exotic women made up of many different parts, complex like us. They come from faraway lands and cultures and together create a new atmosphere. Square by square, stroke by stroke and iconic figures of large proportions are created.
Over time the paintings have evolved in different ways and the final results are different with their own feel. They are about the interaction of pigments, control vs. speed, small vs. large. In many ways the paintings are about conflict vs. peace.
